Job Description: Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for three (3) full-time, fixed term positions as computational scientists with the Irish Centre for High End Computing (ICHEC) at the National University of Ireland, Galway. These positions are funded by Science Foundation Ireland as part of ICHEC’s membership of the LERO Research Centre and can be based in either ICHEC’s Dublin or Galway offices.

As HPC & web-scale computing both approach exascale, architectures are becoming massively parallel. Working with industry partners, the job will focus on investigating new approaches to extract the best performance efficiency on future extreme scale systems and will target specific domains including Oil & Gas, Life Sciences and Climate. The successful candidate will collaborate primarily with other LERO researchers and with R&D teams based at industry partners.
