When a galaxy stops forming stars, the remaining stars will slowly fade away and the galaxy will “die”. But what causes this to happen? Orianne Roos has been simulating primeval star-forming galaxies to try and understand how winds from stars and supermassive black holes can couple to affect the gas content of the galaxy and its ability […]
Cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) are caused by a perturbation in the blood supply of the brain leading to a quick loss of cerebral functions, that is very often lethal. There are two categories of CVA: ischemic CVA (80% cases) resulting from the occlusion of a cerebral artery and haemorrhagic CVA (20% cases) provoked by a bleeding vessel. This interesting project led by Frédéric Nataf, senior researcher at CNRS and INRIA, and his team used amongst others the resources from GENCI and PRACE. Please read all the details about this exciting research work under: GENCI
