For the first time, the EGU General Assembly 2018 (EGU2018) will be hosting a continuation of the EMiT conference series. This will take place 08–13 Apr 2018 in Vienna, in the Austria Center Vienna (ACV), which is located next to the station “Kaisermühlen/Vienna Int. Centre” of the subway U1 running from the city centre (Stephansplatz) to Leopoldau.
What does the session cover?
Advances in Earth Sciences and in computer science continue at a phenomenal rate. In Earth Sciences we uncover additional, but important, processes to include in our computer simulations. These models rely on both numerical techniques and on computer technologies. To maximise advances in Earth Sciences it is imperative to be aware of such Emerging Tech (techniques + technologies) and how to best apply them to improve the accuracy of our science, as well as reduce the time & energy to solution. This PICO session follows the international EMiT series https://emit.tech held over the last 3 years where academics, vendors and industry come together to discuss topics that include:
- Device-independent Compilers and High Level Languages
- Low Power and Energy Efficient Computing
- Advances in Novel Hardware
- Novel algorithmic design
- New domain applications of Emerging Tech
This session will be conducted in the PICO format (Presenting Interactive COntent). PICO is short, precise, and scientific. PICO combines the advantages of both oral and poster presentations in an innovative type of presentation which provides the opportunity to interact with the audience. How to submit your abstract
Each session shows the Abstract Submission link. You can find ours at:http:/
Using this link you are asked to log in to the Copernicus Office Meeting Organizer with your Copernicus Office user ID. You may submit the text of your contribution as plain text, LaTeX, or MS Word content. An abstract processing charge (APC) of €40.00 gross will be levied.
The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is 10 Jan 2018, 13:00 CET.
Abstracts sent to the conveners after 10 Jan 2018 for submission on your behalf have the strict deadline of 18 January 2018, 13:00 CET. These late submissions require final approval by the programme committee and will be invoiced with €80 gross.
The submission of an abstract carries with it the obligation that it is actually presented at the meeting by the author or, at least, by one of the co-authors. If this is not possible, please withdraw your abstract at your earliest convenience. Without early withdrawal, abstracts not presented at the conference are identified as no-shows and their PDF file will be removed from the conference programme.
