The 2016 edition of the MEP Awards will take place in Brussels on 16 March 2016. PRACE is for the second time proud sponsor of the Award for ICT
Each year, The Parliament Magazine presents Awards to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) who have made special efforts or achieved outstanding results in their portfolio(s). Each Award has a specific topic and is sponsored by an organisation (NGOs and international associations) that is active in that specific field or has a special interest in the topic.
For the 2016 MEP Awards (to be presented on 16 March 2016), PRACE will sponsor the Award on ICT Policy. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are critical to improving the competitiveness of EU industry and meeting the changing demands of its society and economy. This award recognises an MEP’s tireless work in modernising public services and advancing science and technology. This year three female MEP’s are nominated for the category ICT Policy which gives this Award an extra dimension for PRACE, as strong supporter of the “Women in HPC” movement.
The nominees shortlisted for the ICT Award are:
Angelika Niebler, European People’s Party (EPP), Germany
Kaja Kallas, Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), Estonia
Mady Delvaux, Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), Luxembourg
MEPs will now vote for their colleagues in the various categories, voting opened on 6 January 2016 and close on 29 January 2016.
