The International Conference on Research Infrastructures ICRI 2016 gathered policy makers and researchers from around the world to discuss the progress and developments of Research Infrastructures (RI). PRACE had the pleasure to be part of the well-established international forum with a presentation by Florian Berberich (Member of the Board of Directors of PRACE) and a booth in the exhibition. Over 600 delegates from 60 countries attended ICRI 2016 at Cape Town, South Africa from 3 October to 5 October 2016.
The DECI-14 call is managed by the PRACE Optional Programme with support from PRACE aisbl. This call is issued jointly with EUDAT. Together, they offer the opportunity to make awards of compute and data resources to projects that also have needs for storage capacity and associated data services. Applicants may apply for both the DECI and EUDAT calls at the same time or may apply to just the DECI call.

PRACE Call 14 now open – More Systems, More Power, More Hours
PRACE Call 14 is open under the new framework of the PRACE 2 programme. PRACE welcomes CSCS (Switzerland) as the 5th PRACE hosting partner making available their system Piz Daint, and the new MareNostrum4 system provided by BSC (Spain). These two Tier-0 systems contribute compute core hours to Call 14 as well as the ones provided by France (GENCI), Germany (GCS) and Italy (CINECA). In total PRACE can offer more than 2000 million compute core hours which is 3 times more than in previous calls and now offers a cumulated peak performance of more than 50 Petaflops.
