On 17 June 2019, during the Opening Session of ISC High Performance 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany, Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Lippert, PRACE Council Chair, greeted the attendees of the conference in a 5-minutes address, summarising the achievements of PRACE to date, and outlining how PRACE is “In Service for HPC in Europe”
He also briefly explained how the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, now that it has selected it’s 3 pre-exascale and 5 petascale hosting sites, will complement the European HPC infrastructure pyramid at the highest level.
“For European HPC users from science and industry, the seamless and immediate integration of these new high-level systems and services into the existing European HPC ecosystem is of key importance. PRACE will increase its creative efforts to ensure that this is done smoothly and that Europe is at the forefront of developing the technological, scientific, industrial and societal application of HPC on an internationally competitive basis,” Thomas Lippert said.
